Brodys chemotherapy

Organized by Brian Johnson

Brody. I Love You.
I'm so heartbroken right now.

Brody lost his life on Thursday July 21, 2011.

He was off chemo and we were looking forward to some happy times together at the lake and ocean but things suddenly went very bad unexpectedly.

Brody did not want to die. He was only five years old and he fought so hard to the very end.

I love you Brody. I am so proud of you and so blessed that I was your dad.

God Bless you, my little guy.

Sad days right now
Hi everyone. I've not slept at all lately. The bills have overwhelmed me and I just found out the Denamarin I ordered off Ebay was cancelled 2 weeks ago. I had ordered that through the kind donations that Brody received here.

I now have no liver support for Brody and my option was to do nothing but Brody would only have a short time.

Yesterday I took him to the dog park with my daughter. One of his favorite places. He ran for the ball and turned to look at 2 little dogs that ran up to him. He stumbled and fell. He was dizzy and weak. He had been doing well and he recovered but I'm hoping it was just too much extertion for how he is with the illness.

I did not go to the vet as I just watched him and I am near out of credit card limit.

Please help if you can. Brody was jumping in the air catching his ball for the last week and now I may just have to stop everything after thousands of dollars of credit card debt.

I really don't wish this on anyone. Such a horrible illness that Gods kindest souls have to endure.

Please pray for Brody

Treatment soon
Brody is getting a treatment on Tuesday. It has to be done or I was told he might only have a couple of weeks to go. I"m more scared now then ever. This is a risky treatment but it can give Brody a remission hopefully. It's the doxorubicin again. So expensive. My last bill was $2300 for 30 days so I'm now nearing my credit card maximum.

He's doing so much better recently and he wants to play all the time. I try to get him to the park every day but I'm so worn out though. There just isn't enough time as I have to find foods and I also have to cook so much for Brody and I'm on my own for most everything.

Please help. I'm near out of food again and the bills are now at a breaking point. The vet costs were near double what they estimated and I've used credit but I can barely pay the bill. I'm using my house bill money to try to keep things going. Please get the word out and pass out Brodys link or post it on facebook or twitter or elsewhere.

It's so hard to get up knowing I may have to stop or lose my home. That just would be so unfair after Brody has come this far.

God Bless.

Another Round
Brody had another elspar on Tuesday.

He's still jumping around and catching his favorite ball. He leaps into the air before it comes down and that's so nice to see. Just a week ago he was barely able to go for a walk.

He did get sick in the middle of the night. I've been sleeping on the couch but I must have just dozed off. I was up until 2:30 and awake a few times in between then and 7:00 am. Poor guy always trys to get outside. He goes to the back door. So smart my Brody.

Yesterday I could not barely get things done. I'm writing to people and trying to find food and vitamin sources. While I was downstairs trying to get caught up on laundry, Brody would let his ball bounce down the stairs to me. I'd take it and throw it in the back yard. A few minutes later, the ball would be bouncing back down the steps. I managed to get about half the laundry done.

I also got a very large bill from the vet. 30 days was well over $2000. There is just not many places anywhere near us that can do Brodys treatments so the costs are climbing fast.

I can't imagine stopping too soon. Please consider helping Brody. I'm doing all I can for him. It's so hard when I get up in the morning and Brody is there to greet me at my bedside with his big smile. He paws my arm and I have to do my best to put meals together for him but I'm often just a meal away from not being able to feed Brody.

He's still fighting and I'm so proud of him.

Brody
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for the recent donations. I was able to buy Denamarin for Brody to support his liver during his lomustine treatment. Very important but also very expensive. Brody continues to show how full of life he is.

The last few days he's been stronger and playing and chasing his ball.

So happy and always hungry. Food is one of his joys but so expensive too as lymphoma dogs can not have carbs or sugars which is in pretty well all in all dog foods.

So he's on a meat diet. I'm cooking most every day as I can't afford to stock up. Day by day is how we get by and now the bills are catching up.

Please consider a donation. It all goes to save a sweetheart of a young guy. He's given so much and still has so much he wants to share with this world. He really could use some help.

More exams and maybe tests today.

God Bless

Thank you everyone again.
I just want to say my thanks again to everyone who reached out to help Brody and me today. I'm rather at a loss for words. And to top things off, Brody just kept getting better through the day.

He's been so happy and had so much more energy. I think he's the best he's been by far in the last 8 weeks.

Thank you to everyone who made this such a nice day.

Thanks
Brody is even better now than a few hours ago. I can say at the moment, he's the best I've seen him in about 8 weeks.

I've added L-glutamine and I talked the vet into lowering his prednisone. He now gets 17.5 every second day and not every day. A couple of weeks ago he was at 35 and before that 50mgs. Hopefully no looking back now.

I just want to thank the kind people that have contacted me today and in the past. So many kind words of support and caring for Brody. The encouragement and kindess will not be forgotten.

Thank you Lynn and Donna for helping so much and everyone else too.

God Bless

Brian and Brody.

Brodys doing better but desparately needs help soon.
Hi everyone. Brody is looking a lot better but he's still weak. I'm still doing 18 hours or more a day with everything. I'm exhausted but it's worth it.

I'm now running low on food for Brody and my daughter as I've used up all that I had. The unexpected setbacks and additional costs has me now in a debt that's hard to manage.

Please, please consider a donation for young Brody.

He's just sitting as I type, pawing my leg to go for a walk or he wants a treat. I don't know where to find money today for food. He's staring at me with those big brown eyes.

If you can't donate, please could you put Brodys link on your social site. Perhaps anyone could post on a pet site or some organization that may help.

Really out of time now. Brody is fighting as he always does. Always happy and smiling. Still a few procedures to go and we don't want to stop now that he's getting some decent results.
The links are below for chipin if you can please get the word out there.
